Lejog day 27 Rosyth to Perth

We felt sorry for the cat on a lead at our overnight B&B in Rosyth. It was kept in the back garden and was constantly getting the lead tangled up on itself.

A continental breakfast got us off to a good start. Once we were away from Rosyth we rode along quiet picturesque country lanes, walker and cyclist friendly according to the frequent road signs - and they were!

For the first time we were seeing hills and moorland, a sure sign that we were getting deeper into Scotland. It rained on us heavily early on so we sheltered under trees and hoped it would pass - it did.

At one point we cane across a road named Linden Park Road - home from home almost as we live on Linden Park.

We did a little detour near Kinross to look at Loch Leven. Rosie and I first met at a different Loch Leven over on the west coast near Glencoe and Fort William. Two very different Loch Levens, this one a freshwater loch only two metres deep for the most part, the other one a sea loch set in spectacular mountain scenery.

On approaching Perth we rode along a busy A road  for about five miles but the kind powers that be had designated the adjoining footpath as a cycleway so we felt quite safe. For the last part we cycled through a park trying to not exceed the 5mph speed limit by too much!

Tonight we've just experienced our first Scottish Wetherspoons meal at 'The Capital Asset' in Perth - much like the English ones except the food was a bit hotter. The same sticky tables though!
