Lejog day 25 Dunbar to Edinburgh

Not a lot to say about today really. It rained on us early afternoon. We took shelter behind a wall but it didn't last long.

We had lunch at Musselburgh looking out at the Firth of Forth. A woman in what looked like her pyjama bottoms stared at us for a moment and said, "Dining out again!". "

" Nothing better, " I replied

The A199 is the most boring road imaginable! For long sections it's dead straight so traffic is whizzing by at high speed. We rode along it for about eight miles. It's only saving grace was that it had a wide cycle lane at the side of the road, occasional views of the Firth of Firth and a good view of Arthur's Seat right at the end. I'm not complaining though.

The final stretch into Edinburgh was along a cycleway named 'The Innocent Railway'. It went under a tunnel near the end with artistic graffiti throughout its length. It was an interesting and quiet way to finish the journey.

We arrived at our accommodation quite early so still having energy in abundance we decided to walk up Arthur's Seat to enjoy the view of the city. It seemed the whole of Edinburgh's student population was up  there. We felt old!!
