Lejog day 13 Ironbridge to Market Drayton

We actually had some rain late afternoon yesterday and overnight with a few rumbles of thunder - not enough to cheer up the farmers! Our bikes were parked outside the accommodation so we'd covered them up as Rosie had quite rightly taken notice of the weather forecast predicting said weather.

Today has been a relatively short day of about 24 miles. It started off with a big hill - nearly two miles of it! The gradient wasn't too steep so we just plodded along until we finally reached the top.

We soon arrived at a place called Wellington. A loo stop had been planned in advance here but they were closed due to vandalism so we kept pedalling until an opportunity presented itself!

The recurring theme of this trip seems to be Wetherspoons and church benches. So far we've visited four Wetherspoons - there's one in Market Drayton, where we are tonight, but we're going somewhere else!

Every so often we need to get off the saddle and we've found some lovely village churches where there is often a bench with a glorious view. We found one today at Stoke upon Tern so sat for a while on yet another beautiful sunny day. The church was locked but others we have visited have been open; it's been great to go inside and absorb the peace, tranquillity and cool.

There's a pet rabbit in the back garden here. Rosie has taken a photo and sent it to Isla, our granddaughter, who'd like to have her own pet rabbit. She's very jealous!
