Lejog day 12 Ludlow to Ironbridge

One of the warmest days so far but another gloriously sunny one. This ride was through the rolling hills of Shropshire.

We stopped at Ludlow's Tesco to stock up with some grub before enjoying mile upon mile of quiet country lanes - beautiful. At one point we passed a female walker going the other way covered from head to foot in what looked like full winter gear! We were riding so fast of course that we didn't really take in how thick her clothing was but she was certainly well covered up! Perhaps she'd slept under the stars and was just warming up after a cold night. Her face was very red so maybe she was protecting herself from the sun. We'll never know!

We're staying at the Swan Taphouse Inn at Ironbridge for two nights. The room overlooks the River Severn. There's a bath (hooray) but no soap and the water is lukewarm.  But it's cheap and we're happy.

Stopped at a couple of churches today. They often have benches outside and it's so good to get off the saddle for a while! It's nice to go inside too and enjoy the peace and the cool.

We're at the end of week 2. 33% of the mileage done and 35% of the ascent.

Possibility of rain tonight and maybe a thunderstorm tomorrow! It's our day off - good timing or what?
