Lejog day 14 Market Drayton to Northwich - no hills; lots of potholes!
Although today's ride was over 32 miles it was probably the easiest one of the journey so far simply because there were NO HILLS!
We're at Hartford, on the edge of Northwich, tonight. It's very busy on the roads. Hopefully once we get out of the place tomorrow we'll find quieter lanes again.
A feature of today has been the number of potholes. Our Garmin gadget puts a little message on the screen when we're approaching potholes! After we've reached them it asks us to press a tick or a cross to indicate whether they still exist or not. Then it says "thank you". It's a very informative and polite gadget! That's if you can read the tiny writing without the need for glasses.
Yesterday I mentioned recurring features - Wetherspoons and church benches. Another one is litter bins. As each day goes on litter accumulates in my litter bag so when it's at full capacity we play a game of spot the litter bin and empty the contents so we can start the process all over again.
The maps on our gadgets give a blinkered view of where we are and what's nearby. It was therefore something of a surprise when found ourselves next to Oulton Park racing circuit. There was much vroom vrooming so we paused and managed to get a glimpse of very fast cars whizzing round and round.
Just been to the Co-op to stock up on jelly babies and other stuff so we're all set for tomorrow. Time now for a pint and a meal!
